Hidden Things

"‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’”—JEREMIAH 33:3 MSG

Life has a way of perplexing us. Just as we think we’ve got it all figured out, something happens to change everything. Chaos and confusion reigns.

That’s where Jeremiah found himself. God had called him to be His prophet to Israel. He gave him a specific message to preach. And Jeremiah obeyed when God promised to make him a strong tower against the evil that prevailed in the land.

Now Jeremiah is confined in the court of the guardhouse to the palace in Jerusalem. God’s deliverance is seemingly nonexistent. Here God meets with Jeremiah and encourages him to pray for revelation. In a situation beyond Jeremiah’s comprehension, God promises to reveal what has been previously hidden.

Again Jeremiah obeyed—though it made no sense—and God gave him a fresh vision of His purposes, far beyond what Jeremiah could have imagined.

God’s promise holds true for us today. While we are only a small part of God’s overall plan, He will reveal what we cannot see when we call on Him.

Today's Prayer:

Father, I thank You that when I call on You, You answer. You reveal Your way to me in terms that I can comprehend. One day I will see the whole picture and marvel at Your wonderful ways.
