Heather Dennis: We are so thrilled to have you all here. Thank you so much for making the trip, and what an extraordinary venue. The Hyatt has been really a tremendous property.

This is the 26th National Cabinet gathering. This is one of the largest. We have a really exciting couple of days planned: a lot of fellowship, a ton of food.

John Temple: That fellowship that you feel comes from a group of people who want to get together to do good, to be a counterpoint to the negativity in the world. We’re getting to talk to one another. You feel that positivity come through. I’m just so pleased to play some small part in that.

Kenneth Blanchard: Norman and Ruth [Peale] really changed Margie’s and my life. They just embraced us, and they said, “The Lord always had you on His team; you just haven’t suited up yet!” What a fabulous legacy that they have left, and it’s our job to keep the power of positive thinking. We gotta make this even bigger, and young John and the staff here, they’re going to go at it.

Elizabeth Peale Allen: Let us just spend the wonderful time together in conversation and experiencing together the program that has been planned for us.

Please spend some time getting to know John Temple. His parents are here, John and Mary Temple. Let us salute you for your years of service to Guideposts. You’re an amazing couple and amazing friends.

John the Third came to the board of Guideposts with enormous credentials, lifelong passion for the work of Guideposts. We are extraordinarily lucky to have John at the helm today.

Margaret Peale Everett: These two days are going to be days of fellowship and spiritual uplift and fun. We can ask for prayer and we can pray for others. The speakers that we have lined up will inspire and challenge us. We’ll learn more about Guideposts’ new initiatives. You’ll hear from our new CEO, and I hope we’re gonna have fun, so welcome and we’re happy to have you here.

John Dilworth: Years ago, we had the opportunity to become part of the Guideposts National Cabinet, and during that experience, we’ve been able to get a deeper look at the organization, into the wonderful people that make it up, only deepening our love for Guideposts and making us more committed to support it in every way that we can.

Heather Dennis: What’s really important to us is you all are our best advocates, our best supporters, those of you that are out in the community and talking about Guideposts and the mission, and we really need you as our ambassadors to be primed and ready with information. What are we doing? Why are we doing this as an organization? This is your organization, too. What resources and support can my team and the entire staff [offer to] help?

So we really hope that this morning, as we’re going through this, you will be inspired and very hopeful. This organization is in a great place and we’re going to be taking on new and bigger initiatives.
